/ world today news/ In the last two months, there have been efforts by the governing coalition to realize the so-called reforms. In secondary education, funds from the scarce budget are directed to private schools. The situation is the same in healthcare.
This was stated by the chairman of the BSP, Mihail Mikov, during a meeting with the party’s coalition partners from the BSP Left Bulgaria. He explained that the BSP had discussed taking protest actions against the privatization of municipal and state hospitals, but it had become clear that the GERB group would rather not support this proposal.
On the occasion of the American military equipment, Mikov recalled the position of the BSP and commented that now the question is how this process will develop, to what extent and how far will the pressure to turn Bulgaria into a front-line country continue. “Differentiations are observed within the governing coalition along various lines. Positioning begins on the eve of the local elections as if they are not in the governing coalition. Against this background, Boyko Borisov tried to be outside of political responsibility in GERB and puts forward more ideas to be promoted or from coalition partners, such as RB, or from representatives of GERB, who are not to such an extent identifying for the party,” he also said.
In connection with the holding of BSP conferences in the country, the chairman of the party explained that there is a degree of encapsulation of the organizations when accepting opportunities for coalitions at different levels. “An internal process is also taking place in GERB – leading figures and the entire management of Plovdiv region are leaving”, he added and recalled that earlier this happened with their structures in Botevgrad, Elin Pelin, Velingrad, where 4 councilors are left. “They were not so widely publicized because they are closed in the media. If this process continues longer, and the sociological studies show it, GERD will definitely have a downward trend,” stressed Mikov. According to him, the management in this composition, the promotion of this policy undermine the authority and influence of GERB. “Part of this right-wing policy is also the creation of an anti-Roma mood, and this is rather quite deliberate. It goes through a wide coverage of a situation like in Garmen and Orlandovtsi”, explained Mikov. According to him, the creation of intolerance towards the different continues. “I had a position, even though I was warned, but I think that it is necessary to proceed from a principled position – the problem cannot be ethnic, it is socio-economic, and its ethnicization poses serious risks for the prospects of this process”, he concluded Mikhail Mikov.
