Get up. A new detective play in Lèves. Saturday evening, at the Espace Soutine de Lèves, the Chartres company As si c’est True will unveil Lies and cover-ups a unique detective comedy full of suspense and twists and turns, written and directed by Patrice Marie, creator of the company.
In this room, four couples come together to celebrate the birthday of one of them. Suddenly, they discover a body lying behind a sofa, its skull smashed and strangled with its tie.
What happened? The victim had no known problems: good husband, good father, good teacher, because that was his job. Who did it and why?
Concealment
The idea that runs through the piece is that of cover-ups: many people hide inglorious elements of their lives, and don’t tell anyone.
The play will highlight these hidden elements, not only in the culprit, but in most of the people gathered.
Associated with a young, somewhat cheeky gendarmerie captain, the inspector will go back up the chain and discover the solution to this initially incomprehensible story. We will go from surprise to surprise until the outcome, unexpected, as it should be.

Compagnie. After a career at the Ministry of Culture, Patrice Marie, based in Villeau (delegated commune of Éole-en-Beauce), devoted himself to directing and created two theater companies: Le monde est un théâtre, in Paris, and As if it were true, in Chartres. Two companies which each produce one show per year. As if it were true will celebrate its tenth anniversary during an exceptional evening, in April 2025, in Chartres.
