A meat manufacturer from southern Thuringia has to recall three of its products. The reason is exposure to listeria. They were only sold at the place of manufacture.
Grabfeld – Pfefferbeißer, Cracker and Teewurst: the names of these variations alone should make the hearts of meat lovers beat faster. However, it is precisely these three products that a meat producer from southern Thuringia has now had to recall from its range. The reason: The three different meat variations are contaminated with listeria, or more precisely they carry the pathogen Listeria monocytogenes within itself.
Butcher shop in southern Thuringia is recalling three products with a manufacturing date in mid-October
Like the manufacturer “Butcher shop, restaurant & party service Burkhard Hendrich” on Tuesday (October 29th) using one product recall announced that his meat variations are Pfefferbeißer, Cracker and Teewurst tested positive for listeria. The producer comes from Grabfeld in southern Thuringia, just a few kilometers from the Bavarian border and is based in the Schwickershausen district.

According to the manufacturer, the meat products contaminated with listeria were put into circulation between October 17th and October 19th, and only at the place where they were produced. In concrete terms, warns produktwarnung.eu in front of these three products with the exact manufacturing dates stated:
- “Knacker” with a manufacturing date of October 15, 2024
- “Tea sausage” with a production date of October 16, 2024
- “Pfefferbeißer” with a production date of October 16, 2024
Due to listeria contamination, we strongly advise against consuming meat products
If consumers have purchased one of the three meat products from the southern Thuringian manufacturer “Fleischerei, Gaststätte & Partyservice Burkhard Hendrich” with the relevant production date, they are strongly advised not to consume it. The affected goods can be returned to the butcher shop, which is indicated in the product recall.

The butcher shop, restaurant & party service Burkhard Hendrich recommends that people who have eaten the above-mentioned meat products and develop severe or persistent symptoms seek medical help and point out a possible listeria infection. “Pregnant women who have eaten this food should seek medical treatment and advice, even if they have no symptoms,” they write. However, medical treatment is not absolutely necessary for other people who have eaten the products and are symptom-free after 14 days.
