UD Las Palmas passed the Huesca procedure against Ontiñena in the town of Monzón with a very good grade. UD did not have to work too hard to beat a Regional teamdespite the fact that Dinko Horkas had work to do as he saved a penalty at the end of the first half. The goals were the work of Jaime Mata with a poker, Marc Cardona, Juanma Herzog and Manu Fuster, already at the end of the match.
The first approach of the match would be through Jaime Mata, who had a header after a good cross from Marc Cardona. Diego Martínez wanted to give minutes to the less common ones, dating: Dinko Horkas, Mika Mármol, Juanma Herzog, Valentín Pezzolessi, Benito, Loiodice, Fabio, Pejiño, Marc, Jaime Mata and Sandro. Víctor Peinado, coach of Ontiñena, looked excited to face a First Division team and a historic Spanish football team like UD Las Palmas. In the first 10 minutes the superiority in quality and chances was appreciated.
The first setback of the match would be when Enzo Loiodice was injured in the 14th minute, after the number 18, Julen, stepped on the Frenchman and had to be treated by the medical staff. The injury was confirmed for the Frenchman who had to leave the field very sore and limping noticeably.. There seems to be no end to UD nursing, now with Enzo. The incombustible Javi Muñoz took his place. Immediately afterwards, UD Las Palmas’ first goal would arrive, the work of Jaime Mata after a perfect pass from Pejiño.
But it would not be the only one that the Madrid striker would have. This time, a one-on-one that would go wide in the 25th minute, over the goal defended by Huesca goalkeeper Presa. The local team tried it for the first time in a foul committed by Benito and wasted with a shot from very far away.. It was the 34th minute of the game when an incisive Pejiño tried it from afar, with a powerful left foot shot that skimmed the post of the local goal. Ontiñena seemed to put on a little more pressure based on tougher tackles and constant interruptions of play.
The UD continued to insist. First with a filtered pass from Marc Cardona to Sandro and then a subsequent rebound from Pejiño that, unfortunately, ended up hitting the yellow nine. In the final stretch of the first half the Aragonese team was going to continue pressing, ending up in the rival areaeven having a maximum penalty in favor but Dinko Horkas stops it.
In the second half a yellow gale would come. Martínez’s pupils came out with all the professionalism of a First Division team, respecting the rival but trying to achieve the victory that ultimately rippled on the scoreboard. In the 59th minute, an unprecedented Iván Gil would enter, who would have it as soon as he entered and who showed a lot of quality. The second goal, beautifully crafted, was the work of Mata with a left-footed backheel, which would come after a measured pass from Marc Cardona. The third, a great goal with the right instep of Marc in the race after a backheel assist from Sandro.
Ontiñena did not leave his area. The fourth would be the work of Juanma Herzog with a header after a good corner from Manu Fuster. Jaime Mata’s hat-trick would come after a filtered pass from Manu Fuster. At the same time, the debutant with the first team, Sergio Viera, entered. Mata would make his poker at the end, just before Manu Fuster’s 0-7 after UD’s last offensive avalanche.
