Accounting firm EY also detects exam fraud among employees

The accounting firm EY has found cases of exam fraud among its employees. The organization reports this in the annual transparency report. Fraud has previously been discovered at accounting firms KPMG, Deloitte and PwC.

A spokesman could not say what numbers are involved. The investigation is still ongoing. It is not yet known what the consequences will be after this for employees who have committed fraud.

According to EY, employees have shared responses from tests of online learning environments. Others did not want to talk about this. EY is currently conducting an examination fraud investigation for the period 2018 to 2023. This investigation is aimed at “all employees and partners who worked at that time”. The company says that “vast amounts” of data were analyzed.

The office also says that the investigation, which has been going on since last year, is taking more time than expected due to the care required. It is expected to be ready next year. The training courses will have a different design to prevent them from happening again, a spokesman said.

Fine and fired

The exam cheating scandals have been going on since last year. Then it emerged that over a hundred KPMG employees in the Netherlands had been involved in fraud related to exams and training over five years. A handful of people were fired after this, and two senior officers resigned.
