On October 6, 2024, around 3:45 a.m., an individual “unfavorably known to the police”, particularly for offenses against drug legislation, was the victim of an attempted murder by two individuals riding a scooter while he was on rue Saint-Michel.
“The commando dressed in dark and hooded clothing, each armed with a handgun, fired three times at the victim, injuring him in the abdomen,” recalls the prosecutor.
Two individuals “very unfavorably known”
The two individuals, also “very unfavorably known to the police and the justice system”, were located and then arrested on Monday evening.
Presented before an investigating judge, they were indicted for attempted murder by an organized gang, criminal association with a view to committing a crime and possession of category A weapons. The judge of freedoms and detention ordered them then placed in pre-trial detention while awaiting their trial, in accordance with the requisitions of the prosecution.
This case would be linked to a “dispute linked to a drug debt”, specifies the prosecutor. The mayor of Rennes was outraged the next day by this umpteenth news item linked to drug trafficking in the Maurepas district.
