TJ Holmes He is not letting a disappointing finish to his race at the Chicago Marathon stop him from hanging up his shoes and competing in the New York City Marathon this year.
“My morning run, another one,” Holmes, 47, wrote in an Instagram Story on Wednesday, Oct. 30, along with a photo of the Brooklyn Bridge at sunrise. His comment also mentioned the podcast he has with his girlfriend Amy Robtitled ‘Morning Run’.
The journalist called his training “my last practice race before the #NYCMarathon, which will be my release race. “
Robach, 51, shared his thoughts on the couple’s journey via Instagram that Wednesday, posting his selfie of the two on the bridge.
“11 years left, 11 years learning, 11 years growing, 11 years grateful. #breastcancerawarenessmonth”, Robach titled the happy release, celebrating being cancer free for 11 years.
The former co-host of ‘GMA3: What you need to know’ She was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2013, after receiving a live mammogram during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Robach underwent a double mastectomy to fight cancer the following month and it went into remission in 2014.

While Wednesday morning’s run was a way to honor her life as a survivor, it was also a step forward in Holmes’ return to the marathon after the couple’s shocking finish in the Chicago Marathon.
Holmes and Rob, who They are coming out from 2022published on the October 14 episode of their podcast ‘Amy & TJ’ which The Chicago Marathon got off to a rough start. They remembered not to eat or drink water or take a bathroom break before the race started because they had trouble finding their tent.

Despite the problems, the couple felt good about starting the race on October 13. However, things took a turn at the halfway point (13.1 miles) when Holmes said he nearly hit another participant.
“I caught myself with my right leg when I fell and as I did that, I immediately felt the pull in my right hip and kind of in my right butt,” he recalled, a ‘ noting that he had previously had a problem with his iliotibial band (the tendon that extends from the hip to the knee, passing through the outer part of the thigh).
Holmes ran a few more miles before Robb noticed that he was not well. “You were literally crying in pain,” she said. “That was something completely new to me. I thought, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m in so much pain’.”
The pair eventually abandoned the race around mile 21 when Holmes said he felt his knee go up. Holmes, who had previously injured his left heel, started vomiting after his last sitting. Paramedics at the scene called an ambulance.

“You looked terrible. You were so pale. you were shaking and shaking you because you had those wet, sweaty clothes on and now the wind was blowing,” Robach recalled, describing to Holmes what it was like in the ambulance . “Then you started vomiting again. At that point they wanted to take you to the hospital.”
Holmes was taken to a medical tent where he was treated and eventually cleared to return to his hotel. He joked that the day got worse when he realized that a bird had smashed his head while they were waiting for their Uber.
Despite everything, Holmes surprised his partner. “I begged you to keep going, to keep going when I knew I couldn’t keep going,” he said to Robach. “You stayed with me and you were fully trained for a marathon and you could have finished it. You didn’t finish because of my push yesterday. “I loved you before I started, I didn’t know how much it was possible to love you and maybe respect you more. “
Robach explained that there was no way he could abandon Holmes time of need. “That’s what love is. And if you didn’t know or fully trust how much I love you, if anything, if he showed you yesterday, it was worth it,” he said.
With Robb’s help, Holmes revealed that he was ready for go back to your training for the marathon on Sunday, November 3 in New York. “I can’t wait to get back because I’m so frustrated with what happened here in Chicago,” he said on the podcast.
Robach will sit out this race, choosing instead to just show up in support of his girlfriend. “I know you’re running and I’ll definitely cheer you on,” she said.
