A young 18-year-old from Vaucluse, recognized as mildly mentally handicapped, met a young woman of the same age on the social network Snapchat. They decide to agree toa meeting at Pontet on September 4. But this meeting will turn into an ambush.
An acquaintance from high school
Once there, the 18-year-old young man informs his correspondent that he has arrived there and describes his outfit. This young woman will never arrive at Pontet. Two young men, aged 18 and 16, came to meet him, grabbed him and took him to a nearby park. The two attackers hit him. A few seconds later, one of them shows him a revolver which is at the level of his belt in order to threaten him. The latter asks him to unlock his phone but the victim does not comply.
The second attacker takes off his hood. The victim recognizes a former student of his high school who tormented him during their schooling. This same attacker tells him that his correspondent on Snapchat is his cousin. One of the two attackers leaves. The other goes to the Société Générale bank with the victim to extract money from him. They get into the disabled young man’s car. The latter can only withdraw 20 euros from the ATM and tells his attacker that he has money in Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue. They therefore take the road towards Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue.
Tried in immediate appearance this Monday
The victim is driving. Arriving there, she stops the car and manages to lock the attacker in the car by locking it with his keys. The young disabled man fled, running towards the police station. His attacker remained locked inside but managed to break a window to escape. The Avignon gendarmerie investigation made it possible to identify the trio and arrest them on Wednesday morning. The two attackers are Pontetians. The young woman lives in Besançon and was arrested in this city. All three were referred to the prosecution. The latter and one of the two accused are placed in pre-trial detention until Monday, when they will be judged in immediate appearance at the Avignon court. The 16-year-old defendant is indicted by the children’s judge.
