Illegal massage parlor closed on Roosevelt Avenue

City authorities raided and shut down an illegal massage parlor on Roosevelt Avenue in Queens.

The Department of Buildings joined with the Fire Department and the Police Department to close the business that operated on the first floor of a building at 72-30 Roosevelt Avenue. The building was divided into movable cubicles constructed of flammable materials.

The Department of Buildings issued three violations to the building owner for unauthorized work, operating against records and not complying with zoning regulations.

The agency also issued a Partial Evacuation Order for the illegal massage parlor due to unsafe conditions.

This multi-agency action was taken under the recently announced initiative called “Restore the Roosevelt.”
