The secret is out and fans can rejoice: Barbara Schöneberger will again moderate the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2025! It is now officially clear that she will remain firmly at the helm of the ESC next year – despite Stefan Raab‘s much-discussed comeback.

Schöneberger has been the face of the German ESC preliminary round for over a decade and has now achieved cult status. In 2025 she will lead German fans through the show for the ninth time – a tradition that hardly anyone would want to miss. After all, her record as a presenter speaks for itself.

The official confirmation was now leaked at a press conference jointly organized by ARD, RTL and Raab. The ESC portal “ESC Kompakt” fueled the anticipation in advance: “Based on several independent sources, we can exclusively report that Barbara Schöneberger will also be on the stage of the German preliminary decision in 2025.”

And on Tuesday, October 29th, RTL made it official: Stefan Raab will actually take on a role in the ESC cosmos again in 2025! The cult presenter and entertainer will organize the ESC preliminary round together with RTL and ARD. In four primetime live shows, three of them on RTL, Raab and his jury colleagues will search for the best from 24 acts.

What’s special is that the spectators at home alone have the say – they decide who will represent Germany in Switzerland. Raab returns ready to fight: “I’m not doing this to come second or third. I want to win! If we only come second, you can punish me afterwards.”
