The Anti Extortion Cell of the Crime Branch of Mumbai has arrested five people for demanding extortion of Rs 10 crore from a builder in Bandra. . Those arrested include gangster Chhota Rajan‘s associates, a lawyer and a real estate agent.
The arrested accused include Chhota Rajan gang member Ganesh Ram Shoradi alias Danny alias Dada, Remi Fernandes, Pradeep Yadav, Manish Bhardwaj and Shashi Yadav. One of these accused was also involved in the murder of crime journalist J Decky. All of whom are associated with Rajan gang.

After the builder has washed his hands
According to Crime Branch sources, a 58-year-old Bandra woman, a native of Naigaon in Palghar district, had sold her 1,300 square meter property in Bandra to a builder. When accused Remi Fernandes (59) and lawyer Pradeep Yadav (40) came to know about the sale, they called the builder to meet them at a hotel in Bandra. He alleged that the woman had earlier dealings with Ganesh Ram Shoradi, a known associate of Chhota Rajan. Shoradi reportedly wanted to meet the builder to discuss the transaction. However, the builder told them that the seller had not disclosed any previous transactions with Shoradi.
Extortion of Rs 10 crore
Let us tell you that when the builder and his associates were inspecting the property, people associated with the gang threatened the builder and said that if he did not pay extortion money of Rs 10 crore, he would have to face consequences. Police said that when the builder met the accused, they tried to scare him by showing him a pistol.
According to the information given by the police, the accused demanded Rs 3 crore to suppress the case, after which the builder contacted Mumbai Crime Branch and investigation into the case started after instructions from senior police officers. A sting operation was conducted with the help of the police, in which the builder called the accused to give money and when they reached to meet him, the police arrested the gang members from the spot.
