A republican forum for special teachers will be held in Almaty

The theme of the event is “Special education: Modern trends and vector of further development,” Vecher.kz reports.

A press conference was held at the site of the Regional Communications Service of Almaty on preparations for the upcoming Republican Forum for special educators. The event, which will take place on November 8, will become a significant platform for discussion and analysis of key aspects of the development of special education in Kazakhstan. Leading experts from the National Scientific and Practical Center for the Development of Special and Inclusive Education took part in the press conference.

The main goal of this forum is to strengthen interdisciplinary interaction, support the integration of advanced technologies and approaches, and promote the development of the special education system through the exchange of international experience and best practices. The forum will become a platform where experts will discuss key issues and jointly develop measures to further improve the learning conditions for children with special educational needs.

“Special education is not only about helping children with special needs, but also an important element of social justice and inclusion. The forum will allow us to identify areas that the special education system needs and find practical solutions to improve conditions for children and their families,” said Zaure Dzhangeldinova, head of the department of rehabilitation and implementation of new technologies.

Key topics of the forum:

  • Innovation and digitalization in special education: how new technologies can improve educational processes and help children with special needs.
  • Early support: how world practice proves that early interventions provide higher potential for children in need of help.
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to working with children: the need for closer interaction between educational institutions and PMPK to create effective educational models.
  • Training of specialists: advanced training and access to new methods, such as the Dara Foundation programs and the Perkins School methodology.

The forum organizers are confident that the upcoming event will be an important step towards improving the accessibility and quality of special education, as well as creating an environment in which every child can reach their potential.

“As a result of the forum, it is planned to develop a plan for the integration of modern technologies and approaches into special education in Kazakhstan with specific recommendations and an assessment of their effectiveness. The forum will bring together more than 1,000 participants from all regions of the country, and the online event format will provide wide access and participation of various specialists,” summed up Zhanbota Akhanova, head of the laboratory of special school education.
