In a calm atmosphere, the attendees, dressed in red “Make America Great Again” caps or T-shirts with the slogan “No more bullshit!” (No more nonsense), they began to access at noon what is known as the most famous stage in the world.
Trump plans to appear with other headliners of his campaign, such as tycoon Elon Musk, former independent presidential candidate Rober F. Kennedy Jr. or UFC CEO Dana White.
The Republican has dared to appear in a city with a Democratic majority and in a state that all polls give to his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.
This will be his second rally in New York since his appearance in the Bronx on May 23.
The police deployment around Madison Square Garden has been especially heavy because the concert center is located at the major transportation hub of Penn Station and there were fears of anti-Trump protests.
The vast majority of attendees are white, some coming from neighboring states, although EFE was able to speak with some Latinos who will vote for Trump on November 5.
