/ world today news/ The trade union federation of employees in the Ministry of the Interior announced that it is leaving the negotiations with Interior Minister Rumiana Bachvarova and is organizing a new protest rally, which will be held on July 25. The reason for the decision – the leadership of the force department was not actively engaged in solving the problems of the employees, informs bTV.
The union protested because of the social reform requested by the Minister of Social Affairs, Ivaylo Kalfin. It also includes the abolition of early retirement in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. Bachvarova supported her colleague in the government, and the police demanded her resignation. A tent camp was also set up in front of the parliament.
The SFSMVR indicated that during the negotiations “certain positive results were achieved” – mostly with regard to the protection of the Turkish border and overtime work. At the same time, the police believe that the serious discrepancies regarding the specific measures and deadlines have remained.
According to the trade unionists in the force department, the impression is created “that either the relationship between the political and senior professional leadership of the Ministry is broken, or during the negotiations we are not provided with full information about the planned measures,” or there is no real program.
In addition, no progress has been made regarding the restructuring of the fire department and the situation of its director, Chief Commissioner Nikolay Nikolov. SFSMVR believes that the ministry is trying to avoid coming out with a specific position regarding it.
“These are not real negotiations, but an attempt by the political leadership to “buy time” by simulating activity without achieving real results. Such attitudes and reactions show not only neglect of the issues raised, but also unwillingness to resolve the issues and reformed the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” the organization wrote.
