The US Congress congratulated Kazakhstan on Republic Day

On Kazakhstan Republic Day, Congressmen Jimmy Panetta (California), Robert Aderholt (Alabama) and Tom Suozzi (New York) spoke in the Official Gazette of the US Congress, expressing support for bilateral relations with Kazakhstan. In their statements, they emphasized the country’s successes in the field of economic and social development and the important role of Kazakhstan in the international arena, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Congressmen reaffirmed their commitment to promoting Kazakhstan’s efforts to strengthen peace, security and sustainable economic growth. They praised the political and social reforms carried out by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and noted the national referendum on the construction of nuclear power plants, held on October 6, as an important step towards the formation of a “Hearing State”.

J. Panetta and T. Suozzi also noted the key role of Kazakhstan in strengthening US cooperation with Central Asia. They highlighted Kazakhstan’s contribution to the C5+1 summit in 2023, especially through initiatives related to critical minerals and the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.

In their statements, legislators paid special attention to interfaith harmony and religious diversity in Kazakhstan, noting the importance of holding the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. They also advocated the establishment of permanent normal trade relations with Kazakhstan, which, in their opinion, will contribute to the recognition and support of the economic growth of the republic in the international arena.
