What a surprise: “Vampire Diaries” actress Nina Dobrev (35) and Olympic snowboard champion Shaun White (38) are engaged! The couple announced this on Instagram on Wednesday (October 30). Dobrev shared several Photos of the application and wrote: “RIP friend, hello fiancé.” White also posted several pictures and comments: “She said YES.”
According to the American “Vogue” White asked the actress the question of all questions at a restaurant in New York City in late October – with a five-carat diamond ring from Lorraine Schwartz.
Engagement was a big surprise for Nina Dobrev
The engagement was a real surprise for Dobrev: According to the report, White ensured that his partner received a fake invitation to an intimate dinner with “Vogue” boss Anna Wintour (74). Arriving at the Golden Swan restaurant in New York, the actress found that only her partner and a photographer were waiting for her in a room decorated with white roses. “I was shocked,” the magazine quoted Dobrev as saying. “I just froze and stared at him.”
A couple for five years
Nina Dobrev and Shaun White have been dating since 2019 and made their relationship Instagram official in May 2020.
Nina Dobrev is best known for her role in the series “Vampire Diaries” and was in a relationship with her co-actor Ian Somerhalder (45) from 2010 to 2013. Shaun White began his career as a snowboarder and skateboarder at a young age and became Olympic halfpipe champion three times: 2006 in Turin, 2010 in Vancouver and 2018 in Pyeongchang. Before dating Dobrev, he was in a relationship with singer Sarah Barthel from 2013 to 2019.
