The buyer promises to modernize the dilapidated enterprise and not only to keep the jobs, but also to increase them
The famous one factory for tractors in Poland “Ursus“which has a 130-year history, was purchased by a businessman from Ukraine. The entrepreneur and his business partner announced that they want to maintain the profile of the unit and bring the Ursus tractor brand back to life.
The Ursus tractor factory was in bankruptcy, a the sale it was auctioned last week. In the first two rounds of the auction, no one registered, in the third an offer was received, with which the winner was announced with an amount much lower than the starting price: from the starting price of 28.7 million euros, the sale took place for 17 million euros.
The new owner of the Ursus tractor plant in Poland is the MI Crow company, established only on July 1, 2024, with a share capital of EUR 11,500. There are two partners in this company: the Polish woman Bozena Glowacka and the Ukrainian Oleg Krot, who is also the president of the company.
In an interview with Polish media, Bozena Glowacka pointed out that the new owner is currently preparing a detailed plan for the activities of “Ursus” after the takeover. “President Oleg Krot will probably go to Lublin and Dobre Myasto next week to meet the team and present the development plans for Ursus,” said Bozena Glowacka.
Oleg Krot is a businessman from Kyiv, one of the managing partners of the TECHIIA holding. Its portfolio brings together 10 technology companies from industries such as drones, IT, eSports or construction technology. In press interviews, Kroth focuses on sustainable development and business related to the local community.
The buyer also sent a statement to the media saying:
„We not only guarantee the preservation of all existing jobs, but also plan to create additional employment opportunities that will allow us to attract new specialists and increase the production capacity of Ursus SA, meeting the social goals and being a valued member of the local community . Our investment plan includes a significant modernization of production through the implementation of modern technologies and management principles, which will also focus on environmental impact, while maintaining the production practices and quality standards that have made Ursus an internationally recognized brand. We assure you that the company will be run ethically and efficiently”.
