This new training was created thanks to a tripartite agreement between the high school, the University of Nîmes and Greta. “There is no equivalent on an academic scale,” rejoices Jean-Luc Dimeur, the high school principal. Since its creation, the Philippe-Lamour high school has offered a BTS in real estate professions which has an excellent success rate of 100%. “Many students, like real estate professionals, wanted the training to be in-depth with a work-study degree level,” explains Jean-Luc Dimeur. For students, obtaining a bac + 3 diploma is clearer on the job market since the LMD (license-master-doctorate) reform. “For employers, it is the assurance of having more mature young people, with a better working posture. And the work-study program tests the motivation of students in the field.”
Realization of the idea
That’s the idea. It remains to make it a reality. “We took two years to finalize the project, to find the right partners, because the high school, alone, could not carry a license,” explain Sandra Rubenszik, Julie Blasco and Fanny Fromental, teachers involved in this project. The main objective was to anchor this training in the region so that students did not have to travel to Montpellier. “It is thanks to a tripartite agreement between Greta Gard-Lozère, for administrative support, Unîmes, for law teaching, and the high school, for real estate courses, that this professional license saw the light of day. This is a first, there is no equivalent on an academic scale,” insists Jean-Luc Dimeur. He adds: “The reputation of the real estate BTS was already established. And Unîmes validates the academic quality of the diploma which is referenced on France Compétence, validated by the ministry.”
What are the outlets?
Currently, the real estate market is rather gloomy. However, the opportunities for this professional license are varied, and “with a bac + 3, we have better employability”, say the teachers behind the course. In addition to being a real estate agent, you can also work in a condominium trustee, be an asset manager, manage the land assets of the Army, the SNCF or a local authority, or even pass a competitive examination. public to integrate a town planning service.
Stick to the job market
“The content of the license has been developed according to the expectations of real estate professionals to better correspond to the job market. We are moving towards digitalization, with courses covering transactions, rental management, property management co-ownership, thermal renovation, ethics, town planning, etc.”, explains Sandra Rubenszik. Students follow two days of training at the Philippe-Lamour high school and at the university, and three days in a company.
The first class welcomes twelve students, mainly from the BTS, but candidates from other sectors such as notarial, sales, banking, law or insurance are also welcome.
For Jean-Luc Dimeur, “this training makes sense because it is free for students and a license is more recognized than a bachelor’s degree. We support young people towards their emancipation with quality and local training. “
