Making the comparison and formulating the forecasts, “which confirm the climate changes taking place”, is Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of the website www.iLMeteo.it, reporting the numbers. «In the next few days – he explains – the maximum temperatures will settle at typical values ​​of late August/early September with 28 degrees in the Palermo area, 26-27 in Catania and Syracuse, 25 in Agrigento, Messina and Reggio Calabria, 24 in Bolzano, Naples and Rome ». Last year, the expert specifies, «October 30 recorded even hotter values: in 2023: 32 degrees in Palermo, 30 in Olbia, 29 in Alghero and Termoli, 28 in Latina and Trapani, 27 in Cagliari, Naples, Salerno together with Rome.” Similar anomalies in 2022: on October 30, maximums of 27 degrees were recorded in Forlì and Rome, 26 in Bologna, Florence, Naples, Padua, Pisa and Verona. «In short, now – observes Tedici – exceeding 25 degrees at the end of October seems normal».

Tedici recalls that the normal highs for the Halloween period are around 17 degrees in the North, 19 in the Center and 22 in the South. The meteorologist then moves on to the forecasts: «the subtropical anticyclone – he explains – will remain stationary and sluggish over the Italy for at least 7-10 days, bringing a prevalence of sunshine in the mountains and in the Central South; in the Po Valley and in the internal valley bottoms, intensifying night fogs are expected and with temperature inversions responsible for a significant increase in smog in the coming days”.
