The Los Angeles Dodgers could be crowned champions on Tuesday in New York after Game 4 of the World Series, the MLB grand final. They were in fact leading three wins to zero against the NY Yankees. But the latter were able to react, winning very clearly (11-4).
Volpe’s “Grand Slam”
The hero of the evening was shortstop Anthony Volpe, who hit a “Grand Slam”, a home run while all the bases were occupied by New York players, in the third inning (of nine innings in a game ), which allowed his team to score four points in one go, going from 1-2 to 5-2 in the score.
Los Angeles, however, returned to the game. The Yankees finally won thanks to a home run by Gleyber Torres, the second baseman, who brought his team three runs, in the eighth inning.
Another home run for Freeman
On the Dodgers side, Freddie Freeman continued to make a strong impression. Author of a “Grand Slam” during match 1, he hit another home run. Freeman thus became the first player in MLB history to record a HR in each of the first four World Series games.
Match 5 will take place on Wednesday, still in New York. Los Angeles will have another chance to be crowned. Otherwise, we will have to win the title at home from next Friday.
