After several months of tough negotiations to be able to change brands, the time has come for relief at the Casino de Plouigneau supermarket. The decision fell last Friday, October 25, as “a deliverance” for the director, Sylvie Paparelle, who manages the Plouigneau supermarket with her husband Giorgio: her establishment will indeed become a U Express store.
And the change will happen very soon. The establishment will close its doors on the evening of November 16 and will reopen on the morning of November 27. During these ten days, in addition to the visual change of sign, “we will empty the store, fill it with U products, change the computer systems, the weighing systems…”, specifies the director.
The whole team retained
This first version of the U Express store will be kept until next year, before other more substantial work which will take place “not before April”, she estimates. Ten short days during which the ten employees as well as management – all kept in their positions – will also be trained in the new tools. A move under the U banner which, management hopes, should “help attract new customers”. As a reminder, the U cooperative has largely positioned itself to take over the franchised Casinos in the country of Morlaix as is, for example, already the case in Carantec and Plougasnou.
