Chivas adds second consecutive victory after the departure of Fernando Gago

The separation of Guadalajara and Fernando Gago has been fruitful for the red and white team. Those led by Arturo Ortega remain in the fight to regain places towards the league, after beating Necaxa 3-2 at the Akron stadium and adding their second consecutive victory.

An atmosphere of uncertainty was experienced just a few weeks ago around Guadalajara due to the departure of the Argentine technical director to Boca Juniors, a club with which the strategist denied having any contact during his stay at Chivas. The technical virtues of their players shone during the last 45 minutes, since in the 55th minute an English shot by striker Ricardo Marín added Guadalajara’s second to turn the score around. Minutes later, a fierce shot by Victor Guzmán increased the advantage for those led by Arturo Ortega, who is acting as interim.

“We started distracted. But the good thing is that we were able to close the gap and get the three points, since we knew that we started badly, but in the second half we came out to improve,” Marín declared at the end of the duel.

Ortega’s good work so far with the team will begin to raise questions about his continuity, after the team’s doubts throughout the competition.

With this result, Chivas are in seventh position in the competition with 21 points, while Necaxa falls behind in 11th place with 13 points.

In another duel, Pachuca tied 1-1 with Santos in a confrontation where both teams remain in the fight to avoid paying the fine in the quotient table. The score for those led by Guillermo Almada came from the boots of Moroccan Oussama Idrissi (64), while Anthony Lozano scored for those from the Comarca (77).
