“We are hard on ourselves and want to achieve something every evening. Some evenings we succeed, others not,” said Stützle. It was a kind of do-or-die game, “today we supported each other well in all three zones and didn’t really allow much.”

Stützle scored the goals to make it 3-0 (16th minute) and 7-0 (48th minute) at the Canadian Tire Centre, and the striker prepared Brady Tkachuk’s 4-0 (20th) and 5-0 (32nd) goals . For Ottawa it was the fifth win in the ninth game of the season, which meant the team jumped four places up to fourth place in the Atlantic Division table.

Sturm wins with the Sharks

Nico Sturm won the California duel against the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 with the San Jose Sharks. The German Stanley Cup champion of 2022 achieved his second assist of this season before the 1-0 win by Jake Walman (3rd). Goalie Philipp Grubauer sat on the bench when his Seattle Kraken beat record champions Montreal Canadiens 8-2.
