Grottaglie strengthens road controls: it arrives “Autoscan Capture” to counteract the insurance and audit irregularities. The Local Police of the Municipality in the province of Taranto is equipped with an innovative automated control system designed to identify, in real time, vehicles without insurance or with expired inspections and to detect parking violations throughout the municipal territory. The new device, operational since this week, allows immediate checks to be carried out on the regularity of vehicles in transit through the automatic reading of license plates, guaranteeing more effective and widespread checks throughout the municipal territory.

The system will allow us to combat, more effectively, the phenomenon of the circulation of illegal vehicles, protecting the safety of all citizens.”
THE CONTROL SYSTEM
“Autoscan Capture” operates through high definition cameras which, connected in real time to ministerial databases, instantly verify the RCA insurance coverage, the regularity of the periodic inspection and any reports of theft of the vehicle. It is also equipped with specific functions for parking control, allowing all violations relating to illegal parking to be automatically detected and documented. In case of irregularities, it automatically generates a report to the local police officers, allowing immediate intervention and notification of violations. The sanctions provided for by the Highway Code for detected irregularities, we remember, are the following: for driving without insurance, fine starting from 866 euros; for failure to inspect, a basic fine of 173 euros and for parking violations sanctions in accordance with the provisions of the Highway Code based on the specific infringement.
