Actress Choi Kang-hee revealed that she gained confidence by working part-time jobs such as dishwashing and housekeeping during her hiatus.
Choi Kang-hee, who recently broke a three-year hiatus and resumed her activities by appearing on YouTube, appeared on KBS 1TV’s ‘Morning Yard’ on the morning of the 29th.
He said, “I’ve become very busy these days. I’m broadcasting, doing YouTube, and doing live radio shows every day. There are more places where I’m invited to sing. I’m so busy that I can say I’m in my prime.”
Regarding the reason for his long hiatus, he said, “I lost the fun of acting. Isn’t there the fun of making money, the fun of being loved, and the fun of acting?” He continued, “But as I continued to act, my horizons narrowed and it didn’t work out, so I found a place that found me. “I felt anxious that it would decrease,” he said.
He continued, “Unfortunately, everyone in my family doesn’t like money very much. Even if I gave them money, they weren’t that happy or anything, so I didn’t have much fun making money. Then, while watching the news about a lot of things happening, I thought, ‘If something unfair happens to me, I won’t be able to protect myself.’ “When I thought about whether I could do it, I lost confidence and wanted to quit,” he confessed.
Choi Kang-hee said, “I couldn’t even think about doing anything else, but I wanted to quit for now. When I told my acquaintances that I wanted to quit, Kim Sook stopped me a lot, saying, ‘Keep it to yourself.'” However, he explained the reason for stopping work, saying, “I wanted to quickly adapt to what else I could do,” and “I was serious and very serious.”
He also said, “(During my hiatus), all the people I had in the entertainment industry left,” and “The people I needed left because I became unnecessary, and I reconnected with my old friends Song Eun-i and Kim Sook, and they protected me.”
Choi Kang-hee, who worked as a restaurant dishwasher and housekeeper during her gap year, said, “I really received exactly what others received. That’s because I was able to face reality,” and added, “I washed dishes at an Incheon meat restaurant for about four months, and worked as a housekeeper at Kim Sook’s house for a year. “It was enough,” he said.
He said, “I really felt a lot. (More than anything) I gained confidence. I wondered if I would be able to survive if I gave up acting. I had a weak personality and lived a sheltered life, so I knew nothing. I was scared of doing it alone, but I gained confidence.” I confessed.
Choi Kang-hee said, “I earned 1.4 million won as a dishwasher and housekeeper. It may not seem like a lot, but it was an amount that was just below my standard of living. I also reduced my house maintenance expenses, basic living expenses, and insurance by about half. That was incredibly healing for me. “he added.
