Mohamed Youssef, the brother of the famous Egyptian artist Hassan Youssef, announced on Tuesday the death of his brother at the age of 90.
Youssef wrote a post on his Facebook account, in which he mourned his brother without explaining the cause of death.

It should be noted that the late artist was born on April 14, 1934. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art. He also studied at the College of Commerce in 1955, and worked at the National Theatre, where he was discovered by the artist Hussein Riad and appeared in his first film, “Ana Hurra,” before later appearing in many films in the role. of a light young man.
He began his artistic career in the sixties and seventies of the last century, presenting many prominent films, such as “There is a Man in Our House,” “Sins,” and “The Open Door.”
He formed a successful duo with actress Souad Hosni in several films, such as “The Three Love Her” and “For Men Only”.
Youssef turned to directing in the 1970s, and participated in many works featuring his wife, the Mu’tazila artist Shams Al-Baroudi, whom he married after his separation from the artist Lebleba in 1972.
He also played famous religious roles, especially his portrayal of the character of Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawi, in the series “Imam of Preachers”. He also participated in many series, including “Zeinab and the Throne,” “Zahra and Her Five Husbands,” and “Layali al-Hilmiyya.”
In January 2024, Youssef announced his retirement following the death of his son by drowning in 2023, which affected him greatly.
