Body found in park leaves little hope for family of young student missing for 10 days

The family of Tadj Madi, a student enrolled in Toulouse, has little hope after the discovery of a body on the evening of Monday October 28 in a city park. Several clues suggest that it is the young Mahorais, even if DNA analyzes have yet to confirm his identification.

Tadj Madi disappeared, without leaving a trace, on Saturday October 19, 2024. For several days, his relatives from Mayotte and friends had been roaming the streets of Toulouse to try to find him. And this Tuesday, October 29, the family of the young student has little hope. A lifeless body was found the evening before in the park, on Ramier Island.

For Tadj’s family, the search may have stopped with a phone call from the police received this Tuesday morning. Johan, the uncle of the young student who has been missing for ten days, says that while his relatives were still carrying out their own searches the previous evening, a lady walking her dog discovered a lifeless body.

Judicial police investigators want Tadj’s dad, who came from Mayotte to try to find his son, to do a DNA test to remove any remaining doubts. Because according to Johan, several elements make it possible to make the connection with Tadj. “They asked us if it was his phone, his father said yes.“A bank card in the name of the student would also have been found. And the description of the clothes that Tadj was wearing on the day of his disappearance would also match, according to his uncle. Last clue: the place where this body was found is located near the place where Tadj returned the bicycle that he had briefly taken from a self-service station on the day of his disappearance.

According to the first information given to the family, the death of the person, found in the park on Ramier Island, dates back several days. Which complicates formal identification. “An investigation is underway into the discovery of this lifeless body. No identification is known at this time“, indicates a police source at the end of the day of Tuesday October 29.

An autopsy and genetic analyzes should be performed. But the results of the DNA test with Tadj’s father, “to confirm 100% that it’s him“, may not be known for several days, or even more, according to Johan. Another long wait for a family who already says they are in mourning.
