“I’ll cut off her head, I’m from Salerno, let’s not forget”: violent husband arrested in Valle d’Aosta

A Salerno Let’s not forget these things, sooner or later I’ll make you appear in the newspaper“: during yet another episode of mistreatment, a woman began recording threats that her partner was addressing her. It is precisely thanks to the file contained in the victim’s phone that against a 42-year-old man residing in Aosta Valley the arrest in flagrante delicto was triggered, a precautionary measure envisaged to protect the victims of “code red” crimes. Last March he had already been arrested onceafter having threatened his partner with death in front of the Aosta Company carabinieri, who intervened after he had started beating her. Once he was released, the relationship continued.

Last Sunday – the military reconstructed – he accused her of being a scoundrel, reproaching her arrest in March and making threats to her partner and her family. That’s when the woman started recording the conversation and called the police. The forty-two-year-old then threatened and used violence against the soldiers who arrived on site, also continuing to rail against his partner: “I’ll kill her, I’ll cut off her head, I’m from Salerno and we don’t forget“. He was immediately arrested for resisting a public official. Interviewed shortly afterwards in the barracks, the woman reconstructed the episodes of the last few months and provided the recording of the latest threat, thus also triggering the arrest for mistreatment. The Aosta prosecutor’s office – the file is entrusted to the prosecutor on duty, Giovanni Roteglia – may request validation of the arrest and a precautionary measure.
