Ahmed Waheed, a member of the Chamber of Tourism Companies, said that Egypt’s airports have started to implement a new decision issued by the General Administration of Passport, Immigration and Nationality at the Ministry of Internally, requiring certain women to obtain advance travel authorization from October 26, 2024.

Wahid said, in reports to Masrawy, that the women to whom the new decision applies are from the lower sectors who want to travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, whether for visiting or work.

Wahid explained, in private statements, that the letter sent to companies and agents confirms the need to submit a passport application to the Directorate General of Passports, providing justification clear to travel, and travel will not be permitted without obtaining this permission.

Wahid confirmed that this decision excludes women who want to travel to perform Hajj or Umrah rituals for the year 2024, as they do not need prior permission.
