Emerald Cruises introduces Emerald Astra and modernizes fleet

Emerald Cruises is expanding its riverboat fleet with the Emerald Astra. The new ship will join the Star Ships fleet from 2026. The Emerald Astra offers space for 180 passengers and is used on the Rhine, Moselle and Danube.

The design is intended to combine modern functionality with elements from the yachting world, including a modern, gray-tinted glass facade. The ship will have a panoramic sundeck, a swimming pool, a cinema and several restaurant areas. The interiors have a contemporary design.

Modernization of the fleet

In addition to the Emerald Astra, Emerald Cruises is also planning extensive modernizations of the ships sailing on the Rhine-Main-Danube, Rhône and Douro from 2025. This includes new furniture in the lounges and a redesign of the pool and restaurant areas. The cabins will be equipped with iPads in the future. Textiles from the Missoni brand and works of art inspired by yachts are intended to further enhance the ambience.

Evolving the guest experience

Glen Moroney, founder and chairman of Scenic Group, said: “As we continue to expand our fleet and enhance the guest experience, our commitment remains unwavering: to provide unrivaled luxury and value in river cruising.”
