Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and Emsteel Group announced the successful completion of the development of a pilot project for the production of sustainable steel using green hydrogen.
The pilot project in Abu Dhabi is believed to be the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region, which uses green hydrogen to reduce iron ore, an essential step in the steel production process.
A statement released yesterday said that the pilot project has now entered the operational phase and has successfully started producing durable steel.
