They force the entrance door of a shop selling gold, silver and precious stones in Corato, Italian Metal Bankand they only took away cash, not yet quantified, but essentially the thieves found nothing else. The shop has been closed and inactive for several months and, therefore, has no valuables inside.
The episode occurred last night, around 3.00 am, along Viale IV Novembre. A gang of thieves, very well equipped, descended on the scene aboard aAudi A6went into action: according to the first findings, after an inspection carried out in the morning, the criminals forced and then broke into the entrance door of the premises, equipped with a hose and a crowbarabandoned and recovered by the agents of the State Police on the door of the business.
Once the thieves entered the business, they were only able to recover some money in cash, which had not yet been fully quantified. Nothing else: neither gold, nor silver, nor precious stones. The shop, in fact, has been closed and inactive for several months and, therefore, has no valuables inside. The criminals, at that point, ran away with the money, in addition to the damage caused to the premises, abandoning the burglary tools on the spot, which were promptly seized and which will be analysed.
A patrol intervened on site for the first checks PS police station to whom the investigations are now entrusted. The officers, after having carried out the investigations aimed at collecting any traces and details useful for the investigative activity, have already viewed the images of the video surveillance cameras in the area.
