From July 16 to 27 in the metropolitan region Reno-Ruhr (GER) will be held on2025 edition from the Universiade and the German gymnast Margarita Kolosov she is one of the 18 ambassadors promoting the event.
WHAT ARE THE UNIVERSIADES?
The Universiadeo World University Gamesare a biennial multi-sport event organized by FISUthe International Federation of University Sports.
As evoked by the name, it is a sporting event reserved for male and female athletes enrolled at the university and is a celebration of sport and young people’s cultures.
As with the Olympic Games, also the Universiade they have an edition winter – the next one will be held in Turin – and an edition summerwhich is obviously where the gymnastics competitions are held.

In addition to Artistic Gymnastics and Rhythmic Gymnastics, there are others 13 compulsory sports e 3 optional sports.
For each of these sports, an ambassador from among German university athletes was elected. For Artistic Gymnastics, the ambassador is Alexander Kunz.
ITALY OF GYMNASTICS AT THE UNIVERSIADS
In recent years, Italian gymnastics – both rhythmic and artistic – has graced the platforms of the Universiade, also obtaining excellent results.
At the Universiade of Chengdu 2023 (edition postponed due to COVID), for example, the Italian GAM team placed in seventh position, also winning a good number of individual finals.

Going back to 2019, at Universiade housewives of NapoliItaly had collected medals and excellent placings.
For the GAF, Carlotta Ferlito, Lara Mori e Martina Rizzelli they had won 3: team bronze, gold on floor exercise for Ferlito and silver on beam for Mori.
In the same year, for rhythm, Alessia Russo she placed sixth in the general competition, then winning silver in the ribbon specialty final.

Past results are therefore a good omen for Italy, although it is still early to talk about any call-ups.
LET’S KNOW THE GYMNASTICS AMBASSADORS BETTER
Alexander Kunz he is a still relatively little-known German gymnast, who nevertheless managed to stand out recently at the World Challenge Cup.
In fact, a Szombathely the young German gymnast won the bronze medal behind the Italian Edoardo De Rosa and the Hungarian Krisztofer Meszaros; for Kunz, the one obtained in Hungary is the first international medal.

Furthermore, from 2023 Kolosov plays in the Italian Championship Serie Agiving his contribution to the team Pontevecchio Bologna as an international loan.
Two high-level ambassadors, therefore, those who represent the two disciplines of Gymnastics at the 2025 Universiade, who represent the present and future of this sport, in perfect agreement with the mission of the event.
