Tallinn will once again host a charity mini-football tournament with the participation of embassy teams | Estonia

After a four-year break, Tallinn will once again host the Diplomats’ Cup, a charity mini-football tournament with the participation of teams from embassies accredited in Estonia, on Saturday, November 2.

The purpose of the tournament is to raise funds for the needs of the Haapsalu orphanage, the permanent organizer of the event, Yuri Churilkin, told the Rus.ERR portal.

This year’s tournament will be the tenth in a row. “In these difficult and difficult times, our event, like previous tournaments, unites all nations, promotes equality and respect for everyone, regardless of nationality and ethnicity,” noted Yuri Churilkin.

This year, the diplomatic missions of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Turkey announced their teams. The Center Party team and the team of parents of Flora young football players will also perform.

According to the regulations, both embassy diplomats and businessmen and students of these countries can play in teams of diplomatic missions.

The teams will play in a round-robin format and the one with the most points will win.

“Previously, none of the teams managed to win this tournament twice,” added Yuri Churilkin.

The event will take place from 10:30 to 16:30 in the capital’s sports hall “Kalev”. Proceeds from the sale of tickets to the tournament will be used for the needs of the Haapsalu Orphanage.
