After falling against the very concerned Bulls at home at the start of the weekend, the Bucks had to redeem themselves against the Nets. An opponent who only seeks to compile defeats, but a nice (and surprising) exception was made. At the same time, Milwaukee gave the stick to get banged up. Warning, wrong message sent.
Were they lazy? Maybe. Is the rhythm at the start of the season slow to arrive in the group? It’s not impossible, but it’s not an excuse. There are opponents against whom the very idea of losing is forbidden. This season, the Nets are on that list. And yet, at the end of a game played without much conviction, Milwaukee lost.
Two dung in a row sent by the Bucks.
Beating at home by the Bulls with rare efficiency at three points
Beating away from home by the Nets who were better prepared defensively and who played seriously for 48 minutes
It’s early, there’s work, it was good in Philly, you have to…

So, before talking about the reasons for the defeat in more detail, we will immediately dedicate Brooklyn: basketball played seriously, desire to win and please the public. The Cooper Flagg project is momentarily underwhelming, but this kind of victory puts a little salt in the plate of stones that will be this regular 2024-25 on a sporting level. Congratulations.
Cam Thomas’ first 3 games?
36 points
24 points
32 points
He will average 30 points per game and no one will be surprised.

Now, back to the topic: the Bucks. A first half marked by some great defensive sequences… and that’s about it. In attack, it’s as lively as a game of bridge in a retirement home, no desire to fight to scratch the balls. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard absolutely did not survive individually, and perhaps they carry the majority of the ills of tonight’s game. 22 points for one, 21 for the other… but no soul breathed into the game. The match statistics? 18 bullet losses, unfortunately symptomatic.
So yes, it’s the start of the season, that doesn’t mean “anything”. But, because we have to put this into a more global framework. These Bucks are expected. They won the title. They have also failed these last two seasons. By carrying the message of being the first to blame and being aware of the work to be done to return to the highest level after the spring. What we note here is that before even talking about technique, we will have to create desire. Tomorrow evening, at 12:30 a.m., the Daims will play in Boston.
And with the same intensity, it risks turning into a turbocharger. Expected reaction, and not a semblance of it.
