The election results dispelled the myth that Peevski’s political power came only from the bought vote

Last night’s election results shatter several myths and legends that politicians, political scientists, sociologists and paid lobbyists planted in the minds of voters for months. However, the biggest problem in this campaign was that Delyan Peevski‘s political power does not come only from the bought vote and his control. The results of the citizens’ vote refuted this thesis. But he also had a rather ugly and simple version – the Roma voted for Peevski and the Turks for Dogan. This false proposal was pushed by the media and experts even after the first results started on the evening of October 27.

The facts speak for themselves

280 thousand voters supported Delyan Peevski, and ethnic Turks are more than 200 thousand. Take an unbiased look at the country’s results to see for yourself.

Peevski defeated Dogan in his stronghold Kardzhali – with 31 thousand votes for New Beginning against 28 thousand and something supporting the Federation. It is absurd to call those voters Roma. That’s how you insult the Roma and the Turks. Basically, when you talk about Turkish regions in the country – there are two typical regions – Kardzhali and Shumen. In Shumen, 14,000 voted for Peevski, and less than 6,000 supported the Dogan Alliance. We can add the result to these examples in Stara Zagora – 14,000 for Peevski and only 2,000 for Dogan, and Pazardzhik – 14,000 for New Beginning against only 2,000 for ASP. In these two areas, Peevski beat Dogan by a margin of 7 times.

But let’s leave the big centers and take a look at the polling station in the village of Kardzhal in Gluhar. Of the 340 who voted, 270 were ballots for Corpulent, 70 for their father from the Saraites. But the most important thing is that not a single Roma or Bulgarian-Mohammedan has ever lived or voted in this town. And there is such a proportion in hundreds of other small towns.

Another iconic area for the former DPS is Blagoevgrad. In these elections, only 8,000 supported Dogan, and 27,000 supported Peevski. In Haskovo – 17 thousand votes against only 6 thousand for Dogan’s Alliance. In Burgas, the situation is very interesting, because even here Peevski defeats Dogan, with a difference of almost 3,000 votes – 16,000 for Peevski against 13,000 for Dogan. In Targovishte, A New Beginning also takes more than twice as much as the Alliance – 14 miles versus 6 miles. Dogan holds some positions only in Razgrad and Silistra, everywhere else he loses completely.

In neighboring Turkey, the picture might be different if representatives of the People’s Republican Party did not irradiate people with dual citizenship with appeals on the day of the vote. They asked for a vote for Dogan’s Alliance. The intervention yesterday was the worst

There were similar faults in the Thracian part of Turkey, Chorlu and others. So, the final result was about 12 thousand votes for Peevski against about 30 thousand for Dogan. But these 12,000 votes are too much for New Beginning because they got in the Republic of Turkey. This is the undoubted identity of Delyan Peevski. There is probably no doubt that the Turkish voters are not Roma, and even less that our relatives there can feel pressure or coercion from Peevski. It is important that both the Turkish state and Erdogan’s ruling party maintained a diplomatic tone and did not allow themselves to play with the Bulgarian or other formations.

There must have been a vote bought for New Beginnings, but it wasn’t much and it changed the vote in some areas. The sociologist Evelina Slavkova also said on Nova TV today that many of the voters declared their vote for Peevski openly, during the exit vote they made, and generally this is not obvious in terms of a bought vote.

At this point, Dogan and his party leader have a new beginning, but they have not yet confirmed and defended the meaning of their name to the people, especially since other parties now see them as an unwanted toxic partner.

The final count from the vote on October 27 – over 280,000 for New Beginning against 180,000 for Dogan’s Alliance. In deputies, this makes – 29 representatives for Delyan Peevski and only 19 – for Ahmed Dogan.

Dogan cannot see himself beyond power, nor can he experience catharsis. He had become so attached to her that he now fell into the position of the straw feldfebel from Svetoslav Minkov’s brilliant story – when his uniform was stolen, he also lost his meaning.
