The State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT) registered a significant drop in the prices of citrus fruits for the past week.
Lemons fell the most during the week, moving from BGN 3.35/kg at the end of the previous week to BGN 2.65 on Friday, which is a 21.5% drop in wholesale prices. According to nutritionists, adding lemon to a glass of warm water in the morning on an empty stomach not only boosts immunity, but also has great benefits for digestion and the functioning of most systems in the body, plus an increase in antioxidants.
The wholesale price of tangerines also fell – from BGN 3.80 to BGN 3.40 (-10.5%). Oranges decreased by 9.6%, with the last registered price being BGN 2.45/kg.
The next biggest reduction is for apples – by 12%. They fell to BGN 1.45/kg. Cabbage fell by 10.1 percent to BGN 0.98 per kilogram.
Excluding potatoes, which retain their previous price of BGN 1.17 per kilogram, the DKSBT notes a single increase in fruits and vegetables, and that is greenhouse tomatoes. They increased in price by 1.1% to BGN 3.18/kg.
