Cornelia Ninova explained that this will be the case, as the budget procedure for next year is being entered. Traditionally, the left will prepare and present a budget for 2016 with their vision of how the country should develop in the coming year.
The focus of the proposals of Mikhail Mikov’s party will be changes in tax laws and a completely new tax system. The BSP will insist again on returning the tax to the people with the lowest incomes, reducing the VAT on children’s goods to 5% in order to support young families and fight the demographic crisis, canceling the flat tax and introducing a progressive one. “We will do all this with serious financial arguments to see that the state and the budget will not suffer from these proposals and they are not populist, but are made with the aim, through taxes and financial policy, to support young families and people with the lowest incomes,” Ninova added.
The second topic that was important for the left was the continuation of the changes in the laws for the judicial system, and the BSP will submit their proposals for changes in the procedural laws.
On the subject of refugees, Ninova believes that a national solution can be sought, as it affects the state. The wave of refugees is growing and common positions on the topic with refugees should be sought, she added.
Regarding the upcoming local vote and the preparations of the BSP, Ninova said only that the conferences for nominations for mayors are currently underway, and probably after that a National meeting will be held to approve the nominations. “We are in the strong phase of pre-election preparations.
