Monica says she had to take Zara-Lizzy to school in the car because of time pressure. “I usually cycle or walk.” When she retired, Monica was criticized by two angry men who were passing by. I let her off and drove on, but I always want to see if she really walks into the school. It takes her 40 seconds to get from the school to the front door.”
In those few seconds, Monica has to endure a lot of criticism. “First, there was a father who started to hit the car: “Hey, hey, you’re on your way here!” (…) We don’t have to hit the car and shout at the top of our lungs,” said Monica. Then his wife came on a bicycle with the children and decided to shout at Monica. “Stupid gal! You’re on your way!” she cried, according to the man who showed up. “Then I thought: what wonderful children you must have if you treat other people like that.”
Although Monica understands that she is wrong, she believes that these ideas are going too far. “And then you drive away and you really want to shout 101 things. ” She considers doing this next time: “Maybe when I see that woman I’ll say: boy, do you think it’s necessary to immediately start cursing like that? Your kids are just standing there.”
