Timothée Chalamet surprised his followers by appearing in his own lookalike competition in New York City on Sunday afternoon.
The Oscar nominee was surrounded by bodyguards as he moved through the crowd and posed for photos with his potential doubles, some of whom were dressed as characters from his films like “Wonka” and “Dune”.
The video showed Chalamet sporting a mustache, possibly in reference to his role in the upcoming movie “Marty Supreme,” which he has been filming in the city with co-star Gwyneth Paltrow.

Chalamet’s representatives did not immediately respond to Fox Information Digital’s request for comment.

It is not clear how long the star stayed at the event, but just as the hopeful Chalamets began walking the red carpet that was rolled out in Washington Square Park for the event, he ordered the police to the dispersal group.
Organizers were fined $500 for an “unauthorized costume contest.”
The Associate Press reported that at least one competitor was taken away in handcuffs, although it was not explained why. The NYPD told the outlet that charges were pending.

Paige Nguyen, representative of YouTube personality Anthony Po, who organized the event, told the AP: “It started as a silly joke and now it’s turned into chaos.”
Organizers posted flyers across New York over the past few days, collecting thousands of RSVPs for an online event.
A prize of $50 was promised to the winner of the contest.

The group left the park and regrouped at a nearby playground, where more than a dozen contestants competed for public approval.
Miles Mitchell, a 21-year-old resident of Staten Island, who donned a purple Willy Wonka costume and threw candy into the crowd from a suitcase, was named the winner and received a brand new inspection.

“I’m excited and also impressed,” Mitchell told the AP. “There was so much good image. “It was a real accident.”
