Long-time director of the Tampere Art Museum Anneli Ilmonen has died. Tampere Art Museum informs about it. Ilmonen was 84 years old when he died.
Born in 1940, Ilmonen was the director of the Tampere Art Museum in 1968–2004.
During Anneli Ilmonen’s tenure, the art museum moved from the Tampere Art Association to an art museum run by the city of Tampere in 1985.
Ilmos was awarded the title of museum councilor in 2001.
In Ilmonen’s memory, the Tampere Art Museum will hold a memorial service this coming Saturday, October 26. A condolence book will also be opened at the museum, which will be handed over to Ilmonen’s relatives.
