Bad Bunny shows his support for Kamala Harris and remembers Trump’s poor treatment of Puerto Rico

Los Angeles (USA), Oct 27 (EFE).- The Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny showed his support this Sunday for the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, just the same day that the Democratic candidate presented her plan for Puerto Rico, focused on improving the island’s economy.

On his Instagram account, where he has nearly 46 million followers, Bad Bunny published the video with which Harris specifies his strategy to help combat high unemployment and mass emigration due to lack of opportunities, among other proposals.

The artist, considered the most popular Puerto Rican today, also repeatedly shared a video of the vice president speaking about the poor response of the Government of former President Donald Trump (2017-2021) to the devastation suffered by the island after hurricanes María. and Irma, which hit Puerto Rico in 2018.

“He offered nothing more than paper towels and insults,” says Harris in criticizing the former president’s handling of the emergencies that left almost 3,000 people dead on the island.

The Harris campaign echoed the support of Benito Antonio Martínez, Bad Bunny’s first name, and highlighted the benefits of the plan to rebuild Puerto Rico presented today by the Democrat in the Fairhill neighborhood, in Philadelphia, the epicenter of the Puerto Rican community since more than half a century ago in Pennsylvania.

“These nine days are key; our goal is to win and, in the process, build community, form coalitions and remind everyone that we are in this together,” said the candidate to the Puerto Rican community who attended the event.

Latino voters have become a prize sought by the two candidates, which could define the race in key states such as Arizona, Nevada, Georgia or Pennsylvania, where they are practically tied.

Bad Bunny’s endorsement of Harris joins that of Marc Anthony, who last week released an advertisement telling Latinos how “divisive” Trump’s mandate was.

Puerto Rico’s name came up this Sunday at the Republican rally at Madison Square Garden in New York, where comedian Tony Hinchcliffe said that Puerto Rico was a “floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean.”
