Olympiacos-Panathinaikos 71-78: “Green” parade with … orgies of Nan –

Panathinaikos achieved a huge victory, which makes it a favorite for the home advantage in the Greek playoffs, over Olympiakos in the packed SEF: 71-78, with a “three-point” recital by Kendrick Nunn, Lorenzo Brown. At halftime, the “greens” led 38-48.

Panathinaikos started with Lorenzo Brown’s 3-pointer, ran to surprise and took a 16-23 lead. However, the hosts responded with a 10-0 run and temporarily overtook, led by Evan Fournier. But it was their only glimpse.

The “greens” took advantage of their accuracy in long shots and reached 36-46 with three-pointers by Mitoglou, Osman, Nan and a 0-11 streak. The difference remained in double digits in favor of the guests until the beginning of the fourth period, despite Lesor’s 4th foul in the 25th minute: 41-53, 52-62, 59-75. Moses Wright made back-to-back baskets to cut it to 65-75, but a disappointing Olympiacos got no closer than the final score.

Kendrick Nunn (25 points, 6/8 tr.) and Lorenzo Brown (18 points, 4/5 tr.) were the leaders of Panathinaikos, who finished the match with 13/26 three-pointers. Sloukas 4, Grant 7, Osman 3, Mitoglou 7, Hernangomet 4, Lesor 10 also played. The patient Papapetrou did not play, while Ergin Ataman excluded Yurtseven, Grigonis from the squad.

Sasha Vezenkov was the leading scorer of Olympiakos with 19 points, while Evan Fournier added 15 and Moses Wright 14. Giorgos Bartzokas used Walkup 3, Vildosa 3, Dorsey 5, Papanikolaou 2, Peters, Fall 7, Milutinov 3. The unprepared Williams-Goss was sidelined with McKissick.

The winners remained alone at the top of the Basket League standings, with 4 wins in as many matches. In the Saturday matches of the 4th matchday, Aris won in Rhodes 85-84 with a Woodbury basket in the final (DeJulius 25), PAOK won the “Two-Headed” derby against AEK (87-82, Cruiser 21 – Hale 22 ), while Panionios crushed Marousi 86-62 (Smith 16). Today Prometheus defeated Karditsa in Patras with 96-79 (Walker 17, Lountzis 14), while tomorrow they will play Peristeri-Lavrio.

The “eternal” of Greek basketball will face off again on November 8, in the context of the Euroleague. Olympiacos had defeated Panathinaikos in the final of the domestic Super Cup in Rhodes, at the beginning of the season.
