There was a lot of good stuff Elversberg (2:4) for the HSV not noted. A decent opening phase and the brace from Davie Selke (6th, 83rd) – that was it.
Only a side issue in the defeat, but: Selke is growing more and more into the role of the snapper. Important for HSV. Especially because Robert Glatzel (30), the top scorer in the last second division season (22 goals), will be out until spring with a torn tendon.

In Selke’s case, the broad squad absolutely pays off. The ex-Cologne player (498 minutes played so far this season) has scored six goals in the last six games. On average, he strikes every 83 minutes. A top value.
Only Selke was worth his money at HSV!
For comparison: Glatzel needed 427 minutes for his seven booths in this series. This means that the ball fidgeted in the opponent’s net every 61 minutes. The top value among the second division professionals who are regularly used.

In Elversberg Selke had three top chances. He put in two. The first ball with foot after a cross from Jean-Luc Dompé (29). The second header after a corner from Miro Muheim (26). This is the fifth goal for Hamburg this season following a corner kick.
In addition, Elversberg’s keeper Nicolas Kristof (24) saved the ball once in dire need (25th) for a corner. In total, HSV fired ten shots on goal. Six went to Selke’s account.
