Abnormally high temperatures in Quebec on Halloween

Quebecers could be treated to higher than normal temperatures on Halloween, so heat records could be broken in certain cities.

In Montreal, for example, Environment Canada is forecasting 21 degrees Celsius on Thursday, close to the record of 21.7 degrees Celsius for October 31, established in 1956.

On the Quebec side, the federal agency is forecasting a cloudy day and a maximum of 18 degrees while in Trois-Rivières, the mercury could reach up to 19 degrees Celsius.

Although the sun will be out during the day in Montreal, showers could spoil the party during the picking, given that intermittent rain is forecast during the night.

This is also the case in several other cities in the south of the province.

It is still too early to confirm around what time this rain could begin.

In Saguenay, we are expecting a rainy day on October 31 with a maximum of 14 degrees Celsius, just like in Sept-Îles where the mercury will reach up to 10 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures above seasonal norms are expected across eastern North America.

In Boston and New York, The Weather Network forecasts 23 degrees for the day of October 31, while the forecast temperature in Philadelphia is 26 degrees. Normal in these cities is 15, 13 and 16 degrees Celsius, respectively, according to ABC News.

The city of Chicago could also set a new record with 26 degrees.
