The owner of the establishment, Joshua Dairen, began to regularly notice paranormal phenomena. According to him, he saw figures moving around the room, found unusual footprints and heard strange sounds.
Joshua Diren and his wife Kima Miller, both 31, bought a coffee shop in Opelika, Alabama, USA in April 2023 and began noticing strange things. Recently, a man began to claim that his establishment was haunted by the ghost of a soldier. Writes about this Metro.
During his first week of owning the coffee shop, Joshua claims he began hearing rustling noises in the back of the office when no one was there. The American said that whenever he was alone in the establishment to open or close it, he heard footsteps coming from the main office to the counter.
On September 5, 2024, at 05:42 a.m., an employee was alone in a coffee shop when he saw a “soldier” approaching him and then disappearing. Since then, Joshua has been exploring the area and believes that the building is haunted by a ghost who died during the Civil War.
“We’ve been experiencing strange activity since we bought this place. During the first week of opening the store, I kept hearing rustling noises in the office. The building was built in the 1800s and I thought it might be the wiring, but nope.” , since then I have been constantly hearing these sounds. We saw a figure walking around the cafe when there was no one in it, and I saw strange shoe prints on the floor,” he said.

Joshua purchased the coffee shop in April 2023 after the previous owner did not want to get into the coffee business. According to him, since he became the owner of this establishment, he often began to observe paranormal activity. The most significant event, which he cannot explain, occurred when a carton of milk exploded.
“We had some expired milk, I put it in the utility room and forgot about it. Two days later my wife came to me and said that I had a mess in the utility room that needed to be cleaned up. I thought the milk had just expired and exploded, but when I started cleaning up and noticed that there was a boot print on the box. It was an old army boot or something like that, no one in our cafe had ever worn one like that,” said the American.
The publication notes that during the Civil War, warehouses in the city were converted into Confederate supply depots. After the raid on the city, many soldiers died, so Joshua suspects that a soldier’s ghost lives in the coffee shop.
Previously Focus reported that a man had found the entrance to a secret tunnel in the forest. A blogger named Josh went underground and found himself among a maze of long tunnels and hidden rooms.
It also became known that a message in a bottle washed up on the beach helped solve the mystery. The letter may have been written by John Darwin, who was arrested for fraud and faking his own death. The new discovery provided police with additional evidence.
