After two disappointing finishes in Japan and Australia, Pedro Acosta returned to the podium this Sunday, taking third place at the MotoGP Thai GP.
To achieve this, the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider had to make an impressive comeback, especially in the closing stages of the Buriram race when he overtook Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM) on the last lap.
The Spaniard explained in the official broadcast: ‘Well, it was difficult because compared to the heating I had trouble getting the temperature into the tires. And it is true that I struggled a little with a lot of water. I also went a bit wide at the start of Turn 3 as the brakes were a bit cold. But we still have to be happy‘.
Acosta took the opportunity to express his gratitude:I would like to thank the whole team, they are doing a fantastic job – all the people in Mattighofen. Every time we try something, we improve. To the entire testing team, from Pol [Espargaró]dani [Pedrosa] and all the engineers behind it. Also the people at home, the guys who let me train their way, my coach… I think we’re doing a good job to get where we want to be‘.
