Putin is again warning the West about a possible Open War between Russia and NATO

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

President of Russia Vladimir Putin once again he reminded the United States (US), Great Britain and their allies who are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) regarding the possibility of direct war with Russia as a result of granting permission to use long-range missiles to Ukraine.

Putin said that giving long-term military authorization to Ukraine from NATO had the potential to involve Russia directly in a war against NATO.

“They didn’t tell me anything, but I hope they heard,” Putin said AFPSunday (27/10).

Putin said that only experts from NATO countries could operate such a long-range weapon.

According to Putin, Ukraine may not be able to operate because it does not have space capabilities like NATO countries.

“Ukrainian troops cannot use these (long-range) weapons themselves. Only certain countries in NATO can do that. Because they have space capabilities, unlike Ukraine which does not ,” he said.

Previously, Putin had in September warned the US and Britain after the two countries considered allowing Ukraine to use long-range weapons against Russian targets.

Putin said at the time that the US and UK attitude could bring Russia and NATO into an open war zone.

“This means that NATO member countries, the United States and European countries, want to go to war against Russia,” Putin told the press team on Thursday (12/9), quoted by CNN, Thursday (12/9).

Putin’s warning in September came amid Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s request to allow Western allies to use long-range missiles to destroy targets deep in Russian territory.

Zelensky said this was important because he could push Russia to the peace negotiating table.

Some Western officials indicated last month that Zelensky’s request would be decided soon. However, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Joe Biden recently called it off amid serious threats from Moscow.
