Recipe 02 to take care of me: F Chicken

ingredient

One pack of chicken drumsticks (5 pieces)

3 tablespoons pancake powder, 1 tablespoon starch

a handful of lettuce

1/3 cucumber

Yuzu dressing (Baksul)

recipe

Wash the chicken legs thoroughly. (Wipe carefully around the bone to make sure there are no foreign substances.)

Remove the moisture from the washed chicken legs with a paper towel.

Make a slit in the thick part of the chicken leg. (Easy to cut with scissors!)

Put the chicken legs from step 2 in a transparent plastic bag and season with salt and pepper. Rub the mixture on the outside of the plastic bag so that it is well seasoned without getting it on your hands.

Add 3 tablespoons of pancake powder and 1 tablespoon of starch on top of the seasoned meat in step 3.

Fill the plastic bag with air and close the opening. Shake vigorously to distribute the powder evenly on the chicken. (If you shake it with air in it, the powder will not clump together. It is also important to remove the moisture well in step 2!)

Cook in an air fryer preheated to 180 degrees for 30 minutes. (Check the doneness color and turn once or twice)

Place thinly sliced cucumber and lettuce on a plate and drizzle with yuzu dressing.

Eat chicken and salad together.

Enjoy the taste

I was worried that the meat would be dry and dry, but it was more perfect on the outside and inside than I expected. The skin was perfectly crispy, and the flesh was moist with the meat juices locked in. When eaten with a salad containing thin cucumbers, it looks similar to a Southeast Asian food plating. There is a theory that fried chicken is called honey mustard, but this chicken tasted too strong when sprinkled with sauce, so it was best eaten with seasoned salt or with a salad with yuzu dressing.

However, even after completion, a slight crumbly texture remained on the outside of the chicken. It wasn’t that bothersome, but it would have been better to compensate for it. Maybe I should have added a little oil or water to the dough?

Reason for selection

We live in an era where it costs about 30,000 won to eat chicken once. If you include the delivery fee, the basic price is around 25,000 won. Chicken is said to be the most convenient delivery food and food for the common people, but that has been the case for a long time. It’s not so expensive that you can’t eat it, but it’s enough to make you worry from ‘Let’s eat!’ to ‘Should I eat it?’ Prices have been rising for a long time, but I keep having doubts because awareness has not yet caught up with the rate of increase. Is it right to eat this at this price?

I recently went to a popular bakery in Chuncheon, and the standard price for one bread was 6,800 won. 7,000 won. As if the taste were different, sausage bread with a slightly different sauce is 7,000 won! I thought this wasn’t right. Chicken doesn’t seem to have crossed that line yet, but I keep looking for alternatives. F Chicken, or homemade chicken like this recipe. You can often see videos following franchise chicken recipes on YouTube. I didn’t try it in the past because I was too lazy, but since it’s around this price range, should I give it a try? It makes you want to.

Thus, the recipe was born.
