Slovácko management decided to dismiss Roman West as head coach, who replaced Martin Svědík at the club in June. Along with him, the fitness coach Aleš Buzek is leaving the club immediately, the team will be temporarily led by the assistant Jan Palinek.
“We believed that this connection would work and that the team would be able to improve in terms of results and performance. However, at this time we feel that the situation is not so good, so we have decided to eliminate Roman West. the head coach position has been filled, he will be in charge of the team’s assistant Jan Palinek,” said the director of the club from Uherské Hradiště, Petr Pojezný.
West took over Slovácko before the season after Martin Svědík, until then he had led the youth there since the winter and celebrated liberation with them from the last hopeless situation. With “A” West collected 16 points in 12 rounds, he had the same balance of four wins, draws and victory. However, the team scored only eight goals, which is the least in the competition after the last České Budějovice.
In the last league season, Slovácko took 6th place. Before that, under Svědík’s management, they were fourth twice, which was the highest in history, and in addition won the domestic cup for the first time and played the first group of the Conference League in Europe.
